Ultra-luxe Equinox Opens Its Second Toronto Club in Yorkville

Toronto’s second Equinox location has opened in Yorkville Village, formerly Hazleton Lanes.

Naturally, a growing number of the city’s in-the-know millennials are joining the new club – or upgrading their memberships if they were already members at the Bay Street location.

The freshly renovated, 32,000-square-foot Equinox Yorkville is an impeccably designed, one-stop shop for young professionals with a love for refined experiences and options.

(And a thing for seriously good-looking people).

If you’re familiar with Equinox, which originated in New York and has 79 clubs globally, Equinox Yorkville is basically everything you’d expect from the luxury brand. Plus way more.

A membership to Equinox means you won’t have to hit other facilities and dish out dollars for classes like hot yoga or barre. In addition to strength and cardio floors, the three-level space features a temperature controlled yoga studio, a cycling studio, with capabilities to offer The Pursuit by Equinox, a new immersive and highly competitive cycling class, a main studio for group fitness, and a Pilates studio for private and semi-private sessions, complete with state-of-the-art reformer machines and cadillacs.

Of course, the club also offers Equinox Signature group fitness programming that can’t be found anywhere else, with classes such as The Cut, a unique cardio-forward boxing class, MetCon3, Ropes and Rowers, Precision Running, and The Pursuit by Equinox, set to launch soon.

There’s also a science-fueled personal training program for those who want an expert touch. Equinox Yorkville offers three levels of personal training as well as Tier 3+ training, where your trainer has advanced certification in nutrition and health management and will work to put together not only a personalized workout plan, but also a customized nutrition plan.

We told you it was great for options-loving young professionals.

Other notable elements include a functional training floor and a workout with a view: the space features a large glass vista overlooking Avenue Road. If you have a sudden urge to check your email mid-squat, the club features Apple computers throughout. There’s also the Shop @Equinox, where you’ll find cool workout gear, some of which you can’t get anywhere else.

Need to recover after a tough workout? Or looking for a little pampering?  Equinox’s full-service spa, which is open to the public, offers everything from massage by registered massage therapists to aesthetic services including facials and even eyelash extensions.

The locker rooms feature luxurious steam rooms, topped with Kiehl’s product throughout.

At Equinox Yorkville, you’ll meet millennials from an array of professions. Pre-or post workout you’ll find many of them hanging out in the lobby making business deals or typing away on computers as they indulge in local food from the iQ Food Co. café.

Basically, it’s the type of place where you can get a body-burning workout within an hour’s lunch break (for example, Friday’s 45-minute lunch hour “Stacked” class), or literally make a day of it and stay for hours working out, shopping, mingling, and spa-ing. You could even meet someone in a class and have your first date minutes later at iQ.

Sounds like the perfect place to get your sweat on to us.
