Toronto is Hosting a Very Cool Sail-In Cinema This Summer

Torontonians are being invited to drop anchor and watch a movie under the stars this summer.

PortsToronto is back to host Sail-In Cinema, the world’s first two-sided floating movie experience in the harbour of Lake Ontario along Sugar Beach.

From August 18th to 20th, Sugar Beach will transform into a large outdoor theatre where boaters will be able to dock along a floating barge to catch an evening flick on a huge inflatable screen.

This summer’s screening theme will be “Books to Big Screen” and will feature three films derived from iconic books. The final line-up of films will be selected through a public vote being launched mid-June.

But don’t worry if you don’t have a boat – Torontonians are also invited to set up blankets and lawn chairs along the beach so they can also get in on the action.

Gates will open at 6pm each night with the film starting at approximately 8pm.

So mark your calendars, this is a summer event you won’t want to miss.
