This Life-Saving Accessory Should be the Next Thing You Buy for Your Home

By now, you’re smart enough to know to have both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in your home.

And while it’s great that a smoke alarm will alert you that there’s a fire, it won’t save you from smoke inhalation – the number one cause of death related to fires.

That’s why there’s Saver.

With several designer awards under its belt, Saver is the first household product of its kind in North America that will literally help you breathe a lot easier.

The innovative, emergency breath system combines a breathing device, an alarm, and a flashlight in a compact, simple-to-use design. In the event of a fire, it will help better mobilize an individual and help them escape safely.

Not to be confused with lifesavers, which while delicious, will not help you breathe.

Breathing clearly, users can arm themselves with a special LED flashlight that penetrates heavy smoke, enabling them to find their way out in a hurry. The built-in alarm will notify first-responders of the person’s location so that they can be rescued quickly. It works by removing the covers on each end, detaching and applying the nose-grip, and breathing in through the mouthpiece.

The device is compact (even for the tiniest of living spaces) and pretty much foolproof to use as well.

At roughly 3.94 inches tall, 2.2 inches wide, and weighing only 0.32lbs, Saver is designed to fit anywhere in the house and is available as a wall-mounted unit or a portable set.

But don’t just take our word for it when it comes to its life-saving abilities: the Saver is the winner of the “iF Product Design Award” in 2014 and the “Best of the Best” Reddot Product Design Award in 2013. Perhaps even more importantly, it’s also endorsed by firefighters.

Of course, it’s manufactured in a facility certified to the standards of the ISO, OHSAS, and the Q-Mark Quality Assurance.

As of today, Saver is available for pre-order on Indiegogo , with shipment expected by June 25, 2015. Early bird pledges will receive 25-35 per cent off of the retail price.
