What if we told you that two of your favourite things were joining forces this summer for a festival that has long-graced the streets of New York City, but has evaded Toronto’s embrace… until now.

Wine + ‘millennial pink’ (aka the colour of the summer/possibly the colour of the generation) are coming together, with the help of celebrity chef Mark McEwan, for the first ever Inaugural Rosé Picnic. The picnic, offering the experience of a totally unique summer festival, will take over the beautiful grounds at Fort York on July 22nd from 12 until 6 pm, with 2,500 people in attendance.

Rose Picnic 3
You have definitely never been to a picnic like this.

Let’s face it, we all love the pink drink. After all, is there anything more Instagram-worthy and on-trend this summer than a glass full of that perfect, millennial pink rosé in one hand, and a plate of food by Mark McEwan in the other?

Add in some live entertainment from bands and DJs, rosé coloured blankets, bottle service and VIP lounges, and Toronto’s finest wine and social connoisseurs dressed in pink or white — and you’ve got a day to remember (as long as you don’t drink too much rosé).

And for those of you wondering, the hype surrounding millennial pink is very real, and could have a direct correlation to our affinity to rosé this summer. This is basically a full-fledged cultural movement in favour of this grapefruit-like shade of apricot salmon. Millennials, fashion designers, Instagram celebrities alike are having a field day… and now you can too, in the most refreshing (and classy) way possible. If your iPhone doesn’t capture the perfect picture, don’t worry… there will be 3 photo booths for you to take advantage of.

As for the food, you are in good — or should we say, incredible — hands. Chef McEwan’s portfolio of restaurants includes One, North 44, ByMark and Fabricca. The fine-fare selection at the Rosé Picnic will feature fan-favourite, signature items from each menu and McEwan food’s gourmet picnic baskets for two are also available for pre-sale. You will also enjoy complimentary Lorelyn desserts, rose wine gummies, cold press coffee by Starbucks and dozens of companies offering free product sampling.

Featured Rosé wines at the festival will include Hogwash Rosé from Napa Valley, California (which isn’t available in Canada) and Moet & Chandon Rosé Champagne. To get your tickets before they sell out, click here and use promo code ‘picnic’ for 33% off General Admission tickets.
