This Baker Turns Break-Ups into Bake-Ups With Her Delicious Instagram Account

Love hurts and breakups can be brutal; but like a snowflake, no two are ever the same.

It could’ve been a mutual agreement between you and your ex that things just weren’t meant to be. Other times it’s a soul-crushing heartache that you just never saw coming.

The common theme in all of them? Eating our own body weight in ice cream, cookies, and baked goods to distract ourselves and move on to the next phase.

And since Instagram is a haven for other people’s incredible food pictures, Isabella Giancarlo created an account called Eat Your Heart Out that posts photographs of breakup messages on delicious looking confectionary.

The baker, based in Brooklyn, was initially inspired by her own break-ups but has since used contributions from others to fuel her creative baking. Her website describes the collection as “a series of words remembered from break-ups reimagined as something sweet.”

Which is awesome, although the sentiments that have so far been Insta-baked seem a little on the light side – where are all the pastries and tarts with “See You in Hell” or “Thanks For Wasting My Time, Douchebag” on them?

And if you’re wondering the same thing, you can go to Isabella’s site to enter your own remembered break-up quote and with any luck she’ll whip you up a delicious cake with your words on it.

Personally I’d like to see some of her desserts renamed in honour of the breakup. Perhaps a Strawberry Cheat-cake or an Pav-ex-lova? Or even a humble Banana Split (although, granted, she’s going to struggle with icing words onto that one).

The cakes certainly do look yummy. Something that just goes to make them all the more bittersweet.
