Is It OK For Professionals To Masturbate At Work?

Earlier this year, Huffington Post Canada reported that 39 per cent of your professionals practice self-love at work, a statistic that was uncovered in a 2015 survey conducted by Time Out New York.

“I do it about once a week in the office gym bathroom,” said one respondent. “It’s cozy in there, and there’s candles. Plus, there’s a lot of space if you want to move around.”

“If I’m really hungover at work, masturbating helps me feel better,” said another. “My record is three times in one day.”

Scientifically, we know that gratification from sex and orgasms increases oxytocin and decreases cortisol, and also balances hormones in women which will leave them in a nice, relaxed state. But does self-love and sexual gratification need to happen at work, amongst colleagues?

Surely not, and we think it’s a sign that you need more personal time.

The various media who reported on Time Out’s survey were concerned with how unsanitary it is to have so many people masturbating so often at work, and we’re concerned about that too. But, perhaps even more concerning is how starved for personal time professionals are if they feel the need to masturbate with incredible frequency at work. It sounds like the underlying problem is that people are working too much, and they need more personal time and solitude.

Spending time alone doing whatever (including making love to yourself) allows you to unwind and reboot your brain is crucial to your wellbeing and a balanced lifestyle. Solitude will help you improve concentration and increase productivity at work, and provide you with time to think more deeply.

The next time you feel like you need to masturbate at work, take it as a sign that you need some personal time. Take the afternoon off work, go home to relax and enjoy yourself so you can return to work revived.
