The Toronto Light Festival Takes Over the Distillery District and Instagram

If you live in Toronto, you’ve probably noticed some eye-catching light art installations appearing in your news feeds as of late.

Transforming the Distillery District into an open-air gallery, the inaugural Toronto Light Festival lights up the winter night with 21 unique installations from Canadian and International light artists.

The festival covers a total of 13 acres throughout the historic buildings and cobblestone streets.

Like the Distillery District’s annual Christmas Market that attracts thousands (to the point where, if crowds make you anxious, you should probably stay far away), one of the major draws of the festival is its social media appeal. If you’re in the market for some fresh, like-worthy Instagram material, you’ll find it here.

The @distilleryto isn’t kitten around with #tolightfest.

An added bonus – it is completely free of charge.

The festival runs until March 12.
