Stop Buggin’: A Clueless Musical is Coming to Broadway

As if!

We have yet another reason to book a trip and “roll with your homies” all the way to New York City.

Twenty years after its release (and yes, that makes us feel super old as well), Clueless will be made into a Broadway musical.

Seriously.

But don’t expect to hear too many of the songs you blasted from the Clueless soundtrack all summer long back in ’95. According to director Amy Heckerling, the production – described as a “jukebox musical” – will feature previously released and popular songs as opposed to all of those specifically created for the album.

Even so, I would be pretty happy if “Kids in America,” “Rollin’ with my Homies,” and “Supermodel,” could squeeze their way in.

For those of us who have seen Clueless over a dozen times (and still have the video somewhere at our parents’ place), we’re going to be disappointed if the actors don’t live up to the ideas of Cher Horowitz, Dionne, Tai, and Josh we’ve held for two decades.

Of course, the now cult classic starred Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Stacey Dash, and the late Brittany Murphy (tear).

Either way, it’s on my list.
