It also explains why participation in StatsCan surveys is important. Taking part in the survey results in accurate and reliable data for your community, offering insight about your community. Such data can be used to drive change at the local level.
These changes can mean anything from access to mental health treatment and wait times for healthcare, to job creation and income support. It also shows where we’re spending our hard-earned dollars. The Toronto surveys include a Canadian Community Health Survey, Labour Force Survey, Households and the Environment Survey, and a Survey of Household Spending.
So, much like voting, if you don’t participate, you can’t really complain about the state of the city.
