Some Guy in Vancouver Put Together the Ultimate 2014 Mashup Video

There was a lot of bad music made in 2014 – and now it’s all in one place.

Vancouver’s own Daniel Kim has been making annual mashups for a few years now (his 2012 edition has nearly 60 million views on YouTube). And ‘Pop Danthology 2014’ came out earlier this week, giving fans of all things pop the chance to hear the biggest hits of the past 365 days in one of the most impressive mashups in the game.

Don’t get us wrong, it’s not the music that’s impressive, but Kim’s skill to rework the beats, tones, and keys into six semi-enjoyable minutes (depending on how much you can stand listening to, say, Taylor Swift).

According to Kim, it took him roughly 180 hours to put the entire video together.

And while that’s a hell of a lot longer than we’d suggest you spend listening to pop music, we’re thankful he did it. This way, we can get our full fix of every terribly popular song of 2014 in just a half dozen minutes of over the top production.

So that no matter how happy it makes us, we can finally let it (all) go
