Nominate Yourself for the United Way Culbert Family Award for Philanthropy

We know you don’t do it for the pat on the back.

Anyone who’s serious about volunteering or community investment isn’t expecting anything for it – that’s the entire point.

But whoever said you had to be so bashful about it?

If you’re out there on your free time making a difference in the community then you need to nominate yourself for the United Way Culbert Family Award for Philanthropy between now and October 24th.

And what does it mean to receive this incredibly respectable award?

Beyond receiving accolades for being an awesome human being, two notable citizens will also receive $2000 to assist with their good deeds in the form of charity or professional development.

So, what are you waiting for? This isn’t so much for you as it is for the causes you’re backing.

Here’s all you need to know to apply:

1. If you live in Calgary and are currently between the ages of 20 to 39, you can check off two boxes.

2. The deadline for this nomination is October 24th at midnight and will require you to complete an application describing your involvement in the community, how you demonstrate the ability to be a leader, along with two fantastic reference letters.

3. The awards presentation will take place on November 24th and all nominees must be available to attend (recipients will be notified November 17th).

If this sounds like you, stop being so shy and let the city know all the ways you’re making positive changes.

Seriously – we insist.
