Montreal’s Best Boutique Hotels

Montreal is sometimes said to be the Europe of Canada. It’s no wonder: From our European style streets in Old Montreal to our official language being French, to even the slower pace of life, Montreal boasts an atmosphere very unique to North America. Montreal’s selection of boutique hotels also adds to this European vibe, and below our some of our top picks when it comes to the most notable Boutique Hotels in the city. Maybe it’s time for a staycation…

Hotel Nelligan
An Old Montreal hot spot, Hotel Nelligan offers up a classic boutique hotel experience on one of the most beautiful streets in Montreal. Its old school vibe attracts lots of corporate customers. Make sure to visit the rooftop terrace for drinks in the summer months. 106 St. Paul West.

Le Petit Hotel – Hotel & Cafe
Under the same hotel group as Hotel Nelligan, Le Petit Hotel, located just down the street from the Nelligan, is as small and cozy as it gets, offering apartment style loft-like rooms and access to Old Montreal’s hottest restaurants and bars. It’s also extremely affordable (not to mention high on the cool factor). 168 St. Paul West.

Hotel Le Germain
Le Germain is one of our favourite boutique hotels in the city. Located in the heart of Montreal’s downtown core (just outside of the Golden Square Mile), this hotel is designed for an extremely hip and notable clientele of both leisure and business travelers. 2050 Mansfield.

Le St. James Hotel
This is the most prestigious boutique hotel in the city. Located in Old Montreal, this hotel attracts the likes of top celebrities like Madonna and U2 when they visit Montreal. The building’s architecture was designed in 1870 and includes wooden sculptures and circular moldings. The décor is extremely eclectic, mixing antiques and works of art. Each room and suite is uniquely decorated – it’s a different experience each time! 355 Saint Jacques.
