Hey Lucy Cafe

Hey Lucy at 295 King Street West has been a fixture on restaurant row at King and John for years. Young professionals from all over Toronto flock to this notable destination for their great rooftop patio, delicious food straight from a wood burning oven, and for their special Martini Wednesdays, where your choice of the best lychee, sour apple, or chocolate concoctions are only $3.99!

But did you know that Hey Lucy also has a famous brunch? Their indulgent “Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast” is served with strawberry compote and a luxurious cream cheese topping. For the more traditional (and hungry) brunch goers, opt for the “Lumberjack” which comes with two eggs any style, farmers sausage, two strips of bacon, one slice of french toast, breakfast potatoes, toast, and fresh fruit. Or try their custom three egg omelette, filled with whatever you like with choices such as spinach, roasted red peppers, Italian sausage, and goat cheese. And if you really want to indulge, opt for a side of the organic, pure maple syrup.

Brunch is available Saturday and Sunday only, from 11:30am until 3:30pm. And if King and John isn’t close to your neck of the woods, perhaps their new location at 440 Bloor Street West will suit you better. They opened the Annex spot in December 2009, and offer the same great brunch fare. Although this location’s street level patio isn’t quite as spectacular as the King Street’s rooftop, it’s still a great place to wolf down those omelettes on a sunny Saturday. They’re also open a bit earlier at 10am just in case you can’t wait to get your weekend brunch fix.

Hey Lucy isn’t just for after work drinks!
