Here’s Everything You Missed at the Vancouver Ford Fusion Lab After-Party

Ford Fusion Lab After-Parties had already taken over Montreal and Toronto, and now it was Vancouver’s turn to celebrate.

Four Vancouver startup teams recently went head to head, competing against each other in an exciting entrepreneurial race that would leave one of them the winner of the Fusion Startup Lab, a title that brought with it a cheque for $10,000 to help their company.

Naturally, this type of hype and achievement needed to be fêted in style.

Over 200 of Vancouver’s millennial movers and shakers filled the gorgeous heritage space of The Permanent on December 8th to kick off what turned out to be a night to remember.

There was some serious girl power on the ones and twos courtesy of DJ Emilita from Girl on Wax sounding across the two floors of The Permanent. The premium beats had everyone in the mood to enjoy mouth-watering canapés from the young and impressive Juno Kim Catering team, easily washed down thanks to an open bar from Brown-Forman that featured Peroni. All in all, this was definitely not your typical Tuesday night.

And so after some socializing, networking, and people watching, the big moment finally came and Rod Were, Dealer Sales Manager of Ford Canada arrived to announce the winners alongside our Founder Julian Brass.

A huge congrats to MealShare for taking first place in the hard fought race. MealShare allows you to share a meal with someone in need just by choosing MealShare items from their partner restaurants. A meal is donated to a person in need for every MealShare item you purchase.

How can you not love these guys?

Further congrats to the other three players that are making big moves in the startup world including Taski, Magnoplug, and Goal Diggers. Make sure to check them out and support their initiatives.

If the Fusion Startup Lab is an indication, the future is definitely now.

And we couldn’t be happier to be along for the ride.
