Event Recap: Face of Today Gala Vancouver

With a dress code calling for Face of Today partygoers to don their best ‘punk couture’ look, we wasted no time digging out our studded jewelry and spiked accessories. Thanks to our friends at The Salon Beautybar (make-up), Blo Dry Bar and friend at John Frieda, our final look was definitely punk and polished.

Presented by Burberry, the 5th Annual Face of Today Gala was an overwhelming success with plenty of funds raised for this local charitable organization comprised of young leaders all under the age of 40.

Upon arrival, we had the chance to check out a fleet of exotic cars by Miles End Motors in the porte-cochère before heading upstairs to the party. Post obligatory pause at the photo wall, we decided to get a lay of the land, complete with body painted models, Veuve Clicquot champagne bar, oyster bar, popcorn and cupcake bar and more.

Rosewood Hotel Georgia had been completely transformed into a punk couture wonderland for an evening of philanthropy and entertainment that had the 400+ guests buzzing (or maybe that was the double vodkas readily available at the ice bar). Beats resonated throughout the rooms courtesy of Girl On Wax’s own DJ Pri, providing the perfect party vibe.

In between noshing on passed canapés, we checked out the Legacy Wine Wall, silent auction items (we’re in love with one particular Burberry tote), and took in the live auction (top winning bid was $9,000).

Amidst all the mingling, gala guests got to experience some punk-inspired fun at The Collective You’s pop up portrait studio, taking home their own memento from the night.

Founded by young entrepreneur Kasondra Cohen, Face of Today has continually worked to help young, underprivileged leaders achieve their aspirations by creating an infrastructure for them to flourish.

It is through standout events such as this annual gala that Face of Today is able to continually expand its network of support, now with a Manhattan chapter, through generous donations and resources.

Definitely a charity event we think is worth noting and supporting.
