Escondite Mexican Restaurant and Bar is Opening Downtown Tomorrow

1206 Union Street downtown Montreal will have some brand new Mexican flavour as of tomorro.

The boys who brought you the uber-cool Biiru Izakaya, are now getting ready to open the doors to their newest hot spot, Escondite.

The name itself means hideout in English, and judging from the images we’ve seen this might just be the most epic hidden Tacqueria and bar ever.

The food is all about Mexican tapas with a twist. Think black truffle quesadillas, black cherry pork ribs, and – because it’s Montreal – a Mexican version of a smoked meat taco.

The drinks won’t be too shabby either. You’ll find a legit tequila and mezcal bar serving up funky cocktails or giving them to you straight if that’s your preference.

As for design, prepare to step into Mexican kitsch, featuring vintage Mexican pieces, posters, and artwork. If you’ve been to Biiru before, you know what we’re talking about.

And the best news? Their terrace will be launching in June.

We don’t know about you, but we’re damn happy that downtown is finally starting to up their foodie game.

Vamos.
