Discover 8 Time Saving Apps

Does any young professional (YP) ever really have a spare few hours (or minutes) in the day? If so, we’d like to borrow some. In the meantime, we’ve discovered eight apps to help save time and reduce your stress levels.

Does any young professional (YP) ever really have a spare few hours (or minutes) in the day?

If so, we’d like to borrow some.

In the meantime, we’ve discovered eight apps to help save time and reduce your stress levels.

1. Mint
Some of us have our head in the clouds when it comes to taking care of our finances. Enter Mint, an efficient way to manage your precious dollars. The best part? The app is free, so you don’t have to spend money to manage your money. With the app, you can see where you’re spending and how you can save as it lets you track, budget and manage your money. How does it work? You just have to open an account, add your bank, credit loan and any retirement accounts (which you should have by now), and Mint will gather and categorize transactions.

2. Pocket
You know when you see something online that catches your attention but you’re too busy at the time to actually look at it? Then you can’t remember where you found it? With Pocket, you can save articles, videos, webpages and other things you see on the Internet for your lunch break. Each item goes into one place for view at any time – even without an internet connection. This, of course, replaces emailing yourself the links only to lose track of them in your already over-saturated mailbox.

3. Simply Noise
Finally there’s a solution to workplace noise that distracts us. Designed by a professional sound designer, Simply Noise creates white noise to block out any unwanted, irritating sound. After all, productivity starts with concentration.

4. Invoice2go Plus
As any entrepreneur knows, there’s nothing fun about invoicing. Invoice2go Plus makes that process so much less tedious. It’s a quick and simple way to invoice, estimate, bill, report and collect. There are over 20 invoice templates to choose from that allow you to include your business logo, and you can invoice immediately from your iPhone or iPad and then email it to your customer. The app also allows you to sync your documents to the cloud so that you can access them from iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC. All this, of course, means that you can spend more time making money and less time collecting it.

5. Clear
It seems every young professional has a never-ending to-do list and a mind perpetually full of clutter. Clear is the ultimate to-do and reminders app that will add some clarity and productivity to your life (and ensure you don’t miss your best friend’s birthday). It lets you make separate lists for different aspects of your life – work priorities, appointment reminders, grocery lists, personal goals, you get it. All you have to do is swipe to check an item off your list.

6. Mailbox
Are your unread messages in the thousands? Mailbox helps you achieve “inbox zero” and makes email fast and mobile-friendly. It lets you label all your unread emails, quickly swipe messages to archive or trash, scan an entire conversation instantly with chat-like organization and, our personal favourite, you can snooze emails in order to focus on what’s important in the moment. You can also mute a conversation you don’t care about. A clean inbox means a clear mindset, right?

7. CloudOn
Looking to increase your productivity? With CloudOn, you can use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create documents while you’re on the go using your smartphone or iPad. You can also sync with Box, Dropbox, Google Drive and Sky Drive accounts, or email files to contacts directly. A godsend for writers everywhere, you don’t have to wait until you’re at a computer to include a particular attachment. It also makes presenting with your smartphone convenient with Microsoft Powerpoint.

8. OpenTable
Whether for a hot date or your mom’s birthday, you’ve probably wasted way too much time making dinner reservations. OpenTable allows you to make reservations at over 20,000 restaurants at the tap of a table. All you have to do is choose a date, time and party size to see available tables in real-time near you or where you’re headed. You can find a restaurant by cuisine or location and narrow your search by price, rating or distance, as well as add reservations to your calendar. You can also include special requests with the reservation, like “it’s my girlfriend’s birthday,” and invite friends to dine with you (friends not included).

You’re welcome.
