Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2013 Announced

Yesterday, Waterstone Human Capital, a leading Canadian executive search firm, announced the national winners of the 9th annual Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures program. Did your company make the list?

The program is designed to recognize the best-in-class Canadian organizations for having a culture that has helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage. Over 600 organizations that represent a wide variety of industries were nominated for the designation. The program’s 30-member Board of Governors consist of top executives from many leading organizations across Canada, who voted on the submissions in early November and chose 10 winners in four categories.

Ten organizations are recognized as national winners in each of the following categories for 2013: Enterprise (revenues above $500 million), Mid-Market (revenues between $100 million and $500 million), Growth & Small Cap (revenues under $100 million), and Broader Public sector. The performance of these organizations, in terms of a three-year average revenue growth, has significantly outpaced the S&P/TSX 60 by over 900 per cent, or nine times.

“What’s so impressive about this diverse list of 2013 winners is their shared belief that their culture is their competitive advantage – whether they are a leading high-growth e-retailer or a not-for-profit foundation,” said Marty Parker, Chief Executive Officer of Waterstone Human Capital and Chair of Canada’s 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures. “They know that in building and sustaining a great culture, that this will result in great performance.”

If you’re in the market for a new job, you just may want to check out the winning companies; with their rate of growth, we can only assume they’ll be hiring in the near future.
