The Blue Jays Will Look a Lot More Canadian This Year

The Toronto Blue Jays are joining in on Canada’s birthday bash.

Major League Baseball’s lone Canadian franchise unveiled a new red-and-white uniform this morning that the team will wear at every Sunday home game during the season. They will also sport the slick new threads during select games at the Rogers Centre during the month of July, the month Canada celebrates its 150th birthday.

Your first chance to see them will come during Toronto’s first Sunday home game is against the Baltimore Orioles on Apr. 16.

“I’ve always been a fan of the red jerseys . . . I’m glad we got them into the rotation,” Jays starter Aaron Sanchez said in a press release.

“We know we play for the entire country, so it’s nice to have a uniform that acknowledges our fans from across Canada.”

Something tells us there won’t be a person in Toronto without that red hat this summer.
