Bill Nye “The Science Guy” Will Have His Own Talk Show on Netflix

A nostalgic blast from the past is about to hit Netflix.

Almost 20 years after his show ended, Bill Nye “The Science Guy” is returning to your screen with his own talk show on Netflix.

None of us North American kids can forget the popular Bill Nye the Science Guy series, which ran from 1993 to 1998 and made us appreciate science in a way our science teachers never could.

Called Bill Nye Saves the World, the new series will see the 60-year-old Nye bust myths and popular opinions surrounding scientific issues.

It will explore the impact of science on society, pop culture and politics, with issues ranging from climate change to genetically modified food, and everything in between.

Slated to premiere in the spring of 2017, the show will feature special guests and demonstrations.

And yes, he will be wearing his signature bow-tie.

“Since the start of the Science Guy show, I’ve been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science,” said Nye, in a statement. “With the right science and good writing, we’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And perhaps we’ll change the world a little.”

Nye hasn’t exactly been sitting around idly since his beloved series came to an end after 100 episodes.

He’s been busy running The Planetary Society, a non-profit group, speaking at events, writing books, and talking shit to climate change deniers.
