7 Important Things Every Human Should Know

Millennials are constantly facing the crisis of meaning. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? For our parents and our grandparents, life seemed simpler because they moved through life with their eyes on the prize — freedom 55 — and the prize was profit. Millennials today know that the pursuit of profit, and profit alone, is a fool’s errand — it’s flawed and backfires when people realize money doesn’t actually make one happier.

Life Is Meaningless – There’s no point in wasting your time chasing things that don’t make you feel pleasureful. Make it a priority to pursue what makes you feel great because, you might as well. You only get one chance at life.

Pursue Your Own Happy — Happiness is a by-product of what you do and who you are. Happiness is like air: you breathe it with the life that you lead. “Felicity” is a term for intense happiness, and it approaches you sideways, never head on. You’ve got to decide what happiness is to you, and pursue the pleasure of that happiness for yourself — your happiness will be different than everybody else’s.

Build A Network – You can’t be successful without the help of other people! Your network is king when it comes to creating the life you want. Make it a habit to exchange contact information with everyone you meet and stay in contact with them. Don’t hesitate to be the matchmaker! If you know someone who would be a great connection for someone else to know, be the one to introduce them.

Live By Your Own Values – Your values are the things that you believe are important in the way you live and work. They (should) determine your priorities, and, deep down, they’re probably the measures you use to tell if your life is turning out the way you want it to.

When the things that you do and the way you behave match your values, life is usually good – you’re satisfied and content. But when these don’t align with your personal values, that’s when things feel… wrong. This can be a real source of unhappiness.

This is why making a conscious effort to identify your values is so important. When you know your own values, you can use them to make decisions about how to live your life, and you can answer questions like these:

  • What job should I pursue?
  • Should I accept this promotion?
  • Should I start my own business?
  • Should I compromise, or be firm with my position?
  • Should I follow tradition, or travel down a new path?

So, take the time to understand the real priorities in your life, and you’ll be able to determine the best direction for you and your life goals!

Be Confident Enough To Say No – Exercising saying “no” more in your life. Establish clear priorities and values for yourself and choose not to compromise them. People respect those who stick to their values.

Life Is Unfair – Bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. Some people work hard and achieve less success than someone who doesn’t work as hard. The sooner you accept this the sooner you can adopt the winning mentality necessary to succeed in life.

Love Yourself – You are worthy, valuable, special, and awesome in every way. Don’t let anyone make you think otherwise.
