6 Restaurants and Cafés We’re Excited Are Coming to Calgary in 2016

Last year saw the introduction of some fantastic new dining options in Calgary, so 2016 sure has a lot to live up to.

And with bars, restaurants and cafes popping up left, right and centre, it doesn’t look like Calgary is going to have any trouble topping its sterling work in 2015.

The only trouble is, we’re going to have to wait a while for some of these eateries to open.

So if patience is a virtue, reward yourself by dining out – often.

CRAFT Beer
Calgary will get a second CRAFT Beer location come summer when the business opens up a branch at Southcentre Mall. According to the Calgary Herald, it will open on the south side of the shopping centre, between Crate & Barrel and Restoration Hardware. Cheers!

Blaze Pizza
The Sundridge Mall location has already opened, but Calgary’s second fast-fired pizza branch will be coming soon to Mission. Priding themselves on speedy production, we’ll leave you with this simple formula: “Blazing hot oven + dedicated pizzasmith + 180 seconds = fast-fire’d, perfectly crisp perfection.”

Nicole Gomes, of Top Chef Canada fame, along with her sister Francine, are the two hens behind this new food joint on Fourteenth Street. There’s no opening date yet, but according to their site you’ll be able to try Southern fried chicken, handmade buttermilk biscuits, and vintage sodas once their doors open.

Earls Kitchen + Bar
On the first day of the year, Earls Bankers Hall and V Lounge closed on 8th Avenue, but it will be reopening this summer ‘not as any Earls you think you know‘. Our minds will have to boggle for a little while longer, as the new concept from the people who brought us Earls will launch the restaurant in June 2016.
